A referral is not mandatory to book an appointment, but it is strongly recommended. A valid referral allows you to claim a Medicare rebate for the consultation and most procedures; without one, you will pay the full private fee with no rebate. Please note that a standard referral from your GP is valid for 12 months, whereas a referral from another specialist is only valid for 3 months.
Booking Your Appointment Scheduling your visit is simple. Please note that if you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the day of the consultation to provide consent.
Your initial consultation with Dr. Sara Sabourirad (MD, FACD) is thorough and personalised (usually 15 minutes). We’ll discuss your medical history, examine the skin concern, provide a clear diagnosis, and create an evidence-based treatment plan. Bring your Medicare card, referral (if you have one), current medications, and any previous results.
We provide expert care for a wide range of conditions including acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer detection & removal, hair & nail disorders, vitiligo, melasma, hyperpigmentation, excessive sweating, vulval dermatoses, paediatric skin issues, warts, molluscum, and allergic contact dermatitis (patch testing available).
We are a private specialist practice. Medicare rebates are available with a valid referral. Out-of-pocket costs vary depending on the consultation type and any procedures (e.g., biopsies or injections). See our full Fee Schedule on the website for detailed examples. We do not routinely bulk bill.
Yes, we welcome paediatric patients. Children under 18 require a parent or guardian to provide consent and ideally attend the appointment.
